When TV was SD (standard definition), Jim moved to Charlotte NC and became the video producer at Ivey’s headquarters, now the famous The Ivey’s hotel. Two years later, Ivey’s merged with Dillard’s. Jim freelanced for the next five years as a camera and sound man for various production companies that produced shows for FOX, ESPN, TNN and ABC as well as syndicated shows like Entertainment Tonight, Extra and Hard Copy.

In the late 90’s, Jim started developing websites and creating video for online marketing.
